Students in a number of school districts throughout the county enjoyed no school or an abbreviated school day Monday as part of Kids Day at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair.
The midway opened at 11 a.m., four hours earlier than usual on weekdays, and students were able to take advantage of unlimited rides as part of wristband day.
Fair officials said a second consecutive day of perfect weather contributed to another large crowd to the Centreville-based event.
Today is Education Day and 4-H horse, beef and dairy shows will take place in the show arena. Other attractions include harness racing, an outdoor-cooking demonstration, live music and chuck wagon races at the horse-show arena.
Grandstand entertainment starts at 7 o’clock and tonight’s attraction is off-road derby and demolition derby.
Meanwhile, River Country Has Talent semi-finals take place at 6 p.m. at the free stage.
