Robert Burdette Rider, age 84, of Three Rivers died on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers on April 11, 1932 the son of the late Howard and Mary (Kline) Rider. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He worked at Fairbanks, Three Rivers Rubber Company, and then for himself as a carpenter. He enjoyed auto racing and Tiger baseball.
Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Caroline (Coler) Rider; son, William Rider of Three Rivers; two daughters, Roberta Luegge of Three Rivers and Margaret Landrum of Schoolcraft; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Temple Baptist Church, 55437 Wilbur Road, Three Rivers. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Rose officiating, followed by a luncheon at the church. Memorial contributions will be directed to the family.
