Glema Hochstetler, 92

Glema Eleanor Hochstetler, 92, of Nottawa, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, her home. She was born on February 07, 1924 in East Gilead, MI, a daughter of Charles and Nellie (Stout) Preston. Glema graduated from Centreville High School in 1942. On October 4, 1947 she married Carl Hochstetler in Centreville. He preceded her in death August 19, 1996. She worked as Rosie the Rivetor at Willow Run from 1943-1945, at American Aircraft in California, Denton Mills in Centreville, and JCPenney in Three Rivers. Glema was a member of the United Methodist Church in Centreville and Mendon where she served as Sunday School Teacher. She volunteered at the Library in Los Fresnos, TX and served as President of the PTA in Mendon. Glema was previously a Mendon Green Clover 4-H leader for 15 years.  She enjoyed working with stained glass, reading books, sewing, cooking, and loved animals. Glema’s family would like to sincerely thank Three Rivers Hospice for all of their care and support during this time.

Surviving are daughter, Sondra Pierce, Nottawa; sons Anthony (Linda) Hochstetler, Centreville, Timothy (Linda) Hochstetler, Centreville, and Kristopher (Delilah) Hochstetler, Harlingen, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren and one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Hochstetler, sister LaMoine Metty, and brother Kenneth Preston.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Monday 9-11am at the Centreville United Methodist Church. A Memorial service will follow at 11am. Pastor Emily Slavicek and Pastor Dave Peterson will officiate. Interment of Ashes will be in the Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville.
