Evelyn Gardner, 93

Evelyn M. Gardner, age 93, of Marcellus, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
She was born November 26, 1922 in Climax, MI the daughter of Clarence C. and Melva (Geren) Pierce. On August 2, 1942 in Marcellus, MI she married Henry Eugene Gardner who preceded her in death in 1997.
Evelyn has been a resident of Marcellus since 1942. She was formerly employed at Marcellus Community Schools and Ingersoll’s Drug Store. She enjoyed sewing, was a sports fan and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley (Joe) Mroczek and Sharon Sweet both of Marcellus; two sons, Barry (Linda) Gardner of Dowagiac, MI and Paul (Laura) Gardner of Vail, AZ; two sisters, Marie Mackey of Portage and Mabel Holmes of Fennville, MI ; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, six brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Marcellus Cemetery.
