St. Joseph County’s government website will soon have a new, fresher look, but some aspects of the update were questioned by a county resident Tuesday.
Prior to commissioners approving a $34,200 expense for Sturgis-based eStudio Design Content Marketing to handle the upgrade, Nottawa Township resident Tammy Rigby expressed her concerns about the matter.
Rigby’s concerns centered on the cost to revamp the county’s government webpage, whether bids for the task were sought, if an opportunity to have a college student was extended and if a more prudent course of action might be to hire someone on a part-time basis to oversee the job.
Commissioner Rick Shaffer said the county’s two-year, harmonious relationship with eStudio was a consideration in whether to award it the job.
According to eStudio’s bid, it will likely take about 12 weeks to complete the redesign, which is expected to begin in early January.
The county’s web address is stjosephcountymi.org.
