St. Joseph County commissioners agreed Tuesday to renew for 2017 the board’s contract for services with MSU Extension.
Commissioners approved terms of the contract, though, with the exception of language and action related to the extension’s educator position.
At the request of Commissioner John Dobberteen, the $39,300 allocation for educator was pulled and the rest of the agreement was subsequently voted on and endorsed.
He said the board during last week’s budget meeting talked about matters at which it wanted to take a second look, and the educator’s position was one of them, Dobberteen said.
He made a motion to approve the contract, less the educator position until the budget picture becomes clearer.
Minus the educator position, the contract with MSU Extension is $83,785.
