A 36-year-old Sturgis man was charged with drug-related offenses after he was found passed out in a vehicle last week in Mendon Township.
State police were called shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday to the area of M-60 and Silver Street in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a cornfield.
Upon arrival, troopers observed the man unresponsive sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Troopers were able to remove the driver from the vehicle but noticed he attempted to dump the contents from a vodka bottle.
Troopers located a shotgun, a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and marijuana, and several pills identified as a so-called “date rape” drug.
The driver was charged with possession with intent to deliver meth and marijuana, possession of analogues, felon in possession of a firearm, driving under the influence of drugs, driving on a suspended license and possession of open intoxicants.
