Names of the people involved in a two-vehicle accident last week at a busy intersection in Fabius Township have been released by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
Aaron Brewer, of Dowagiac, was cited for failure to yield after he proceeded eastbound on M-60 and into the path of a U.S. 131 southbound semi driven by J.W. Friend, of Grand Rapids.
Friend’s semi collided with Brewer’s vehicle. The semi, which was hauling 180 pigs picked up from a location in northern Kalamazoo County, subsequently traveled into the median and jackknifed.
Several of the animals were injured or killed in the collision, which occurred at 2 p.m. Friday.
Authorities did not include the ages of the people involved in the incident.
