Duane Frisbie, 96

Duane D. Frisbie, age 96, of Colon, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater.
Duane was born Aug. 11, 1920, at a home west of Colon, to James and Mabel (Blenman) Frisbie. He was the youngest of six children.
After returning from the Army, Duane married Dorothy Hargreave Groth. She had two sons and together they had three daughters.
Duane had a few different jobs during his life. He enjoyed many years of hauling dirt and stone to the Colon residents in his faithful red dumptruck with his little dog, Tuesday, at his side.
After retiring at about age 90, he enjoyed good health and time with his cat, Scooter. In September of this year, he moved to Maple Lawn in Coldwater and enjoyed this final chapter of his life.
Duane is survived by his three daughters, Brenda (Richard) Collins, Susan (Mel) Glasco and Linda Taylor; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private service with burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon. The family was assisted by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
