White Pigeon Community Schools this evening is staging the third of three community forums related to next year’s renewal for a sinking-fund millage.
Superintendent Jon Keyer said the 6:30 p.m. session at the high school library serves as a follow-up to the Oct. 24 and Nov. 16 forums, during which ideas for the 3-mill renewal were identified.
A steering committee comprised of community and staff members has identified the basic needs of the facilities. High on the list are mechanical, electrical and site improvements.
Keyer said specific improvements and their projected costs are likely to be identified tonight.
District voters will be asked in May to renew for the second time a sinking-fund millage that, if approved, would generate more than $4.7 million over its five-year life.
