Miller attended 3 township meetings

State Rep. Aaron Miller last week attended three township meetings – in Sturgis, Burr Oak and Wayne townships – fulfilling a promise made two years ago to attend each of the 59th District’s monthly municipal meetings twice, hearing first-hand ideas and how the Legislature can help communities.
Miller said he enjoyed meeting with local officeholders and listening to the concerns faced by communities in the district. In the few cases when he was unable to attend a meeting, a member of his staff went in his absence and reported back.
Miller said it is vital to sit in on county, city, village and township meetings to hear the challenges facing communities, and determine what can be done in Lansing to help alleviate the issues.
There are 39 municipalities in the district, and with the Cass County and St. Joseph County commission meetings, Miller or his staff attended more than 82 meetings in 2016.
