An Indiana teenager died in a two-vehicle accident over the weekend in Cass County.
Sheriff Joe Underwood Jr. said a car driven by Lucas Lambright, 17, of Millersburg, Ind., was northbound on M-40 shortly before 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Newburg Township. Lambright lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line.
Lambright’s vehicle ended up in the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Lyndsey Hovarth, 33, of Grand Rapids.
A passenger in Lambright’s vehicle, 18-year-old Matthew Miller of Middlebury, Ind., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lambright, Hovarth and a passenger in her vehicle, Kathy Peterson, 62, of Kalamazoo, were taken to Three Rivers Health.
Investigators said seatbelts were used by occupants in both vehicles.
