CTA offers free rides home on NYE

The St. Joseph County Transportation Authority announced this week it will once again offer its annual New Year’s Eve “Free Ride Home” next week.
Steve Yorks, director of the Three Rivers-based agency, said sponsors are still being lined up but the free ride from and to any St. Joseph County location will start at 10 p.m. Dec. 31 and conclude at 4 a.m. Jan. 1.
Yorks said the CTA is promoting the offer in advance so New Year’s Eve revelers can plan their night of celebrating accordingly.
The event marks the eighth time in nine years the CTA will offer free rides, with no questions asked.
Free Ride Home has averaged more than 25 rides since its inception in 2008.
