Two arrested in Sturgis on drug and weapons charges

Two Indiana residents were arrested on drug-related offenses as well as a weapons violation earlier this week in Sturgis.
Sturgis police said a vehicle was stopped at 11:41 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Buckingham and Canterbury streets for a plate-registration violation.
The driver, a 24-year-old man from Elkhart, advised officers he was in possession of a firearm, which was retrieved without incident. The pistol was reported stolen out of Elkhart County.
He was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of meth, carrying a concealed weapon, felony firearms and no operator’s license
A 21-year-old female passenger was arrested for possession with intent to distribute drugs and possession of meth. She was also wanted on an undisclosed warrant.
