The new-look St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners was introduced Tuesday.
Kathy Pangle, Dennis Allen and Dan Czajkowski, along with returning commissioners John Dobberteen and chairman Allen Balog, were sworn in by county clerk Lindsay Oswald in advance of the board’s first meeting of 2017.
All five commissioners are beginning two-year terms.
Balog was tapped to serve as board chairman for the second consecutive year. Dobberteen was selected vice-chair and will conduct meetings in Balog’s absence.
Balog, starting his seventh year as the commissioner representing Flowerfield and Fabius townships as well as the city of Three Rivers, said he appreciates the confidence of his elected peers.
Czajkowski represents Constantine, Mottville, White Pigeon and Sturgis townships.
Pangle represents Park, Mendon, Leonidas, Colon and Burr Oak townships, while Allen’s jurisdiction covers Florence, Lockport, Nottawa and Sherman townships.
Dobberteen, the dean of the county commission with nearly 20 years served, represents Fawn River Township and the city of Sturgis.
