David G. Whisler, 69, of Constantine, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at his home, following a short illness.
He was born Aug. 10, 1947, in Sturgis, a son of Paul D.and Eleanor E. (Barrett) Whisler.
He had been a resident of Constantine the past four years, coming from White Pigeon. He was a graduate of White Pigeon High School and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He retired from United Specialty Trailers in Bristol, Ind. He was a past member of the American Legion and he enjoyed golf and bowling.
On Oct. 9, 1982, he married Sherry D. Joseph in White Pigeon. She survives, along with a daughter, Missy Garten of Constantine; three sons, Jesse Landrum of Mottville, and Andy Joseph and Chris Joseph, both of Shipshewana, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Barry Edds officiating. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
