County fair received grant

With the support of The Andersons Inc. and in keeping with their mission of supporting communities that will increase their value, the St. Joseph County Grange Fair has received a $10,000 matching grant.
Fair manager Bill Johnson said the grant was finalized over the winter and was recently received. Johnson said the grant is earmarked for infrastructure and will be dedicated toward a $34,000 project of roofing three buildings on the grounds.
There are 54 buildings on the grounds, and grants are of great value in keeping up with the continual needs of the infrastructure, Johnson said.
The support and generosity of The Andersons displays their belief in agriculture education and youth in our community, he added.
