Two people were arrested and a significant quantity of drugs was recovered following an arrest Tuesday morning stemming from an investigation in Three Rivers.
According to a Three Rivers Police Department media release, officers were engaged in a drug investigation centering on a Broadway Street motel. At 4:45 a.m., the target vehicle pulled into the motel parking lot, followed by a car with an Indiana license plate.
The occupant in the second car was questioned and subsequently arrested on charges of a moving violation, possession of drug equipment and concealed-weapon violations.
The fugitive later in the morning drove from the scene at a high rate of speed into Cass County. She eventually stopped her vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended in a wooded area.
With assistance from K9 Jake, officers found a backpack containing marijuana, Fenatanyl and about two pounds of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of about $90,000.
Her SUV and the cash were seized under drug-forfeiture laws.
