Karen Malesh, 62

Karen Ann Malesh, age 62, of Colon, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, unexpectedly at her home.
Karen was born April 20, 1954, in Chicago, a daughter to Arnold L. and Ann Marie (Barbic) Malesh.
Karen had attended high school and college in Illinois where she received her Register Nursing certification. She had worked as an RN in Illinois, Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.
She moved to Colon in 1992 and had attended St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Colon.
Karen had raised champion Persian show cats and showed them at many cat shows. She had been a very active member of the Persian Cat Society.
Karen is survived by her parents, Arnold L. and Ann Marie Malesh of Colon; a brother, Donald (Debra) Malesh of Warrenville, Ill.; and was the beloved Aunt to three nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Karen Ann Malesh will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Fr. Antony Rajesh of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
