Three Rivers High School director of bands Bryan VanToll is appealing to the public in hopes of securing enough funding to purchase new uniforms for the school’s marching band.
VanToll said a new design has been considered as part of a plan to replace 12-year-old uniforms. The cost is about $45,000 for 120 uniforms.
He said an increase in band members has added earnestness to the plan, as VanToll said he expects more students than uniforms by the end of the 2017-18 academic year. To that end, he said the band will not be soliciting donations as it does every three years for its Florida trip. He said the need for new uniforms exceeds the Florida trip in cost and urgency.
Cash donations are tax-deductible and can be mailed to the high school in care of Three Rivers Band Boosters. The mailing address is 700 Sixth Ave.
