James August Cobb, age 56, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Sturgis Hospital emergency room.
He was born July 7, 1960, in Detroit, child number six of seven of the late Edsel and Lucille (Bison) Cobb.
Jim was the top of his class when he graduated from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1979.
He is survived by a brother, John (Patty) Cobb; two sisters, Beth (Kevin) Hopkins and Jane (Steve) Hice; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane Allen; two brothers, Dennis Cobb and Edsel Cobb; and the love of his life, Christine Sheppard.
The will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor Jimmy’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the home of Beth and Kevin Hopkins, 506 Center Ave., Sturgis.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
