Alcohol is considered a factor in a single-vehicle accident over the weekend in Mendon Township.
State police said 23-year-old Tylre Gaiser of Vicksburg was driving north on Silver Street at 1:50 a.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at Michigan Avenue. His vehicle crashed into a retaining wall and boulder at the north end of the three-way intersection, according to authorities.
Gaiser was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by personnel from the Mendon Fire Department. He was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Investigators said fog and a wet road surface also likely played a role in the incident. Gaiser was not wearing a seatbelt, according to authorities.
