Elizabeth Ellen Bragg, 54, of Carmel, IN passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. She was born on April 12, 1962 to Dennis George and Rebecca Jane (Dudd) Shank in Lansing, Michigan.
Beth spent her early years in Lansing and East Lansing, attending school in East Lansing, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas. A descendant of the Pilgrims, she was active in the Children of the American Revolution, Girl Scouts, and several church and school music organizations in East Lansing. Beth graduated from Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, TX, and also studied at the University of Houston. She moved to Carmel, Indiana in 1982, and married Michael Bragg in 1984; they had two loving sons. For many years, Beth worked as a legal assistant for law firms in Indianapolis and Hamilton County. She had a love for the Hoosier Mountain Biking Association, serving as “official photographer” for races and meetings. Beth was known for her “good food” and hospitality which she learned from her grandmothers, Marion and Carol. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her sons, partner, Dave, and their dog, Luther.
Beth is survived by her partner & supporter, David James Tozer; sons, Michael Lynne (Chelsey) Bragg II, and Christopher Thomas (Katlin D.) Bragg; mother, Rebecca Jane (Dudd) Shank of Constantine, MI; grandchild, Eliana Bragg; sister, Laura Jane (Wesley) Hiser of Indianapolis; two brothers, Christian Dennis (Lisa) Shank of Harbor Springs, MI, and Corey Andrew Shank (Amy MacDonald) of Three Rivers, MI; nieces, Alixandra Shank-Mulligan and Grace MacDonald; nephews, Laerce and Evan Hiser of Indianpolis; aunts, Christine Ellen Dudd (Bruce) Carlson of Aurora, CO, and Jacqueline Ruth Dudd (Denis) Donnelly of Saratoga Springs, NY; and uncle, David Alden (Kayette) Dudd of Portage, MI.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis G. Shank; and grandparents, George H. and Carol L. (Huff) Shank of White Pigeon, MI, and Harmon A. and Marion J. (Hales) Dudd of Constantine, MI.
A Celebration of Life was held on March 18, 2017 at Beth’s home. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers, Michigan.
