The St. Joseph County Solid Waste Committee wishes to advise residents that the annual spring collection of household hazardous waste, electronics, paper, latex and paint takes place in three weeks.
Committee officials said they like to give a few weeks’ advance notice so people with items to drop off can begin the process.
A few notes about the April 22 collection at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds include there will be no charge for electronics recycling this time; cost per tire has increased to $2 for a passenger/light truck tire, $5 for a semi tire and $25 for a tractor tire. In addition, cost to drop off latex paint for recycling is $1 per can, regardless of how much paint is in the can.
Additional details will be announced in advance of the collection date.
