My Community Dental Centers has opened its doors in Sturgis.
Located at 1525 E. Chicago Road in the Maplecrest Plaza, the dental center opened for business in early March.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce was part of the celebration.
Pearline Bailey, regional manager for MCDC, addressed the gathering, thanking the community for its support.
MCDC is a private, nonprofit organization that partners with communities. In the case of the Sturgis center, that partnership is with Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
The majority of patients served by the centers are those with Medicaid or who are uninsured, Bailey said.
According to Bailey, the center has a private practice look and feel. The center exists to serve everyone, she said, regardless of background, income, or type of insurance.
The Sturgis center is the 35th to open in Michigan, and others already exist in Three Rivers.
