Florence A. Custer, age 81, of White Pigeon, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her home. She was born April 10, 1936 in Battle Creek a daughter of James and Florence (Hissong) Ernsberger. Florence attended Bellevue public schools and later graduated from Centreville Schools. In 1972 she married Ervin Custer. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was employed as a nurse and caregiver for the Battle Creek Veterans Administration and also private homecare in the Battle Creek area. Florence enjoyed fishing, camping, Christian word search puzzles and reading her Bible. She has also been a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law James and Gloria Storey, White Pigeon, granddaughters Kayli, Katelyn and Alyssa, great grandchildren, Serenity, Makaila, Madilyn and Gianna, seven step grandchildren, sisters Bonnie Burkett, Rockford, IL and Bridgette O’Connell, Elmhurst, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
