Animal Control plans fundraiser

Members of the St. Joseph County Animal Control Advisory Board are hoping to repeat the success of last year’s inaugural fundraiser.
Set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, the second annual animal control fundraiser will provide financial support to benefit the Centreville-based agency.
Animal control director Greg Musser said last year’s first-of-its-kind event generated about $6,000. A portion of the money helped build an outdoor kennel for the agency’s dogs.
Cost is $10 per person and includes light snacks and drinks. The fundraiser will take place at The Rusty Spur at Rouch World, 63142 M-66 in Sherman Township. It is in the vicinity of the intersection of Hackman Road.
Friday’s event will feature a live auction and a 50/50 raffle. Musser said an impressive quantity and quality of donated items were offered for the auction.
