Elizabeth Ann Blackman, age 60, of Colon, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Elizabeth was born May 16, 1957, in Kenton, Ohio, a daughter of Cleo T. and Patricia L. (Fay) Young.
She had made her home in Branch County since the age of 7 and had attended Colon Schools and later Glen Oaks Community College, where she earned a welder’s certificate.
Elizabeth had been a heavy-equipment operator and welder for more than 20 years and was presently working for Dometic Corporation in LaGrange, Ind.
She was a member of Crossroads Bible Church in Sherwood. Her two loves in life were God and time with her bloodhound dog, Jethro.
She is survived by two daughters, Amanda Lilly of Colon and April Musselman of Reno, Nev.; grandchildren Dylan and Makayla Lilly, Shannon Blackman, and Nodin and Ajibik Biron; her mother, Patricia Young of Athens; a brother, Tom (Linda) Young of Athens; a sister, Katherine Young of Battle Creek; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cleo T. Young.
According to Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service and burial will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood. A luncheon will follow at Crossroads Bible Church in Sherwood.
The family was assisted by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
