Mary L. Ward, 81, of White Pigeon, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born June 23, 1936, in Blodgett, Mo., a daughter of William Brian Jennins and Audrey (Lawson) Cantrell.
She was a White Pigeon resident the past three years, coming from Three Rivers. She had been employed in manufacturing and nursing home care.
She was a member of Church of Christ in Three Rivers. She enjoyed shopping at Walmart, buying purses and, most of all, time spent with her family and grandchildren. She was a grandmother to many.
She was married to Otho Burnett, Vern Herman and Edward Ward, who all preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann (Paul) Monsen of White Pigeon and Bonnie Sue (Hank) Hendrick of Sturgis; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Norma Jean Taylor of Sikeston, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Wanda Cooper; a son, Gray Burnett; and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, with the Rev. Mike King of Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery. Donations may be directed to Church of Christ.
