Colon’s Magic Camp begins

Magic season returns to Colon beginning today.
Though Abbott’s Magic Get-Together doesn’t start for a few more weeks, FAB Magic in downtown Colon is staging its two-day Magic Camp starting today.
FAB Magic owner Rick Fisher said 100 people have signed up for the third annual event. The larger-than-expected response has forced him to move the event to Colon United Methodist Church.
Fisher said the camp costs $40 a day and concludes Thursday with a hot-dog cookout at Colon Community Park.
Fisher solicited magicians Larry Wirtz, Preston Eakins and Jim Merrills for help in leading the sessions.
Meanwhile, Fisher has decided to not stage MagiCelebration this year, ending a 13-year run. Fisher said he has legitimate concerns about his health and he was afraid his heart wouldn’t be strong enough to take a 14th annual.
