Bill Woods, 59

William Carl “Bill” Woods, age 59, of Mendon, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Vicksburg, on June 10, 1958 the son of Frederick H. and Elizabeth (Dokey) Woods and has been a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Mendon High School with the class of 1976. Bill was a carpenter and later a foreman in the manufactured housing industry, working at Skyline in Howe, IN and at Vanguard-Palomino in Colon. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football, working in his garage, fixing cars, and woodworking.

Bill was married to Shirley Lynn Alexander on April 2, 1979 in Mendon. She survives, along with two children, Luke (Debbie Platter) Alexander and Lindsey (Jeff Mohrhardt) Woods; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlynn, and Ashley Alexander, Eben Yoder, Piper Mohrhardt, Makinzie and Madison Platter, Dillin and Ravi Woods; a great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Morrison; brother, Joseph Woods; two sisters, Linda (Jay) Crabtree and Deb (Frank) Cerny; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sandra Dentler and Pam Dare; two brothers, Fred and Richard Woods; and a son, Dustin Woods.
