Constantine Village Manager Mark Honeysett last week presented village council members with documents related to medical marijuana facilities.
The documents, he said, were delivered by attorney Travis Copenhaver of Cannabis Attorneys of Michigan. Copenhaver has made numerous municipal presentations on the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act, including a recent presentation in Three Rivers.
Honeysett said he was not asking the council to make any decision with regard to medical marijuana but wished to share what was given to him.
The council earlier this summer discussed allowing dispensaries in the village. Honeysett said several people had approached him asking about the village’s stance and he provided the council with a 28-page proposed draft of an ordinance to review.
He said village attorney Howard Bush would review a new state law which takes effect Dec. 15 that allows individuals and businesses to apply for licenses for the five categories of medication marijuana regulation.
