Man dies on Cass County farm

A Benton Harbor man died during a farm-related accident over the weekend in Cass County’s Silver Creek Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday to a location on Dixon Street.

Deputies were told 69-year-old Roger Molter was parking a cherry picker in a barn for the winter, and while repositioning the equipment he ended up pinning himself between the cherry picker and the wall.

Molter, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was discovered in the barn by a family member, authorities said.
