Jean D. Puckett, age 95, of Klinger Lake, White Pigeon, left this life Sunday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2017, to rejoin her sweetheart of 80 years.
Jean was born April 6, 1922, in Chicago Heights, Ill., a daughter of Arthur and Matilda Daniels.
The Daniels family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, when she was in high school. There, she met her future husband, Dr. Robert Puckett.
Jean attended Stephens College and graduated from University of Iowa, where she majored in journalism and joined Pi Beta Phi sorority.
On March 29, 1947, she married Robert Puckett. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 2017.
Their early years of marriage encompassed many locales, but ultimately they resided in Arcadia, Calif., for more than 50 years.
Jean was the mother of five children Robert (Suzi), Thomas (deceased), Nani (Dennis Miller), David (Cathy) and Susan (deceased).
In Arcadia, Jean was actively involved as an officer in various philanthropic organizations and enjoyed many life-long friendships.
As a couple and a family, the Pucketts traveled extensively around the United States and world, but their favorite place was Klinger Lake.
They eventually retired to Klinger Lake to continue an 80-year tradition of kids, boats and fun.
Jean loved children and was blessed with nine grandchildren (Amy, Anne, Max, Thomas, Karen, Ryan, Amanda, Daniel and Scott) and nine great-grandchildren (Anna, Robbie, Chloe, Shelby, Izzy, Logan, Lilly, Lila and Ivy). Her kind and caring ways will be missed by them all.
