Beatrice A. Porath, age 64, of Marcellus, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
She was born June 18, 1953 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Ernest and Ellamae (Hibbard) Porath.
Bea was retired from the Kalamazoo State Hospital as a Supervisor. She loved horses and all her animals. She was the president of the 4-H Horse Leaders Association of Cass County and also served as the leader of Hoofbeaters 4-H Club for the last 43 years. She will be greatly missed by everyone in those organizations. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Ideal Chapter 167.
She is survived by her father Ernest, one daughter, Charlia (Mike) Aardema of Schoolcraft, MI; two sisters, Sarah Porath (Kevin Reuter) of Marcellus and Melissa (John) Schick of Chesterton, IN; two brothers, Mark (Candy) Porath and Todd (Connie) Porath both of Marcellus; one granddaughter, Ruby Aardema and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her mom, Ellamae Porath.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home with memorial services immediately following at 2 PM. Memorial donations may be directed to the Hoofbeaters 4-H Club for the creation of a 4-H Scholarship given in Bea’s name. Online condolences may be left atwww.materralstonfuneralhome.
