A Coldwater man was arrested this week on charges related to criminal sexual conduct and manufacturing child sexually abusive material.

State police investigators at 1 p.m. Wednesday executed a search warrant at a Harrison Street residence in Coldwater to investigate allegations of a criminal sexual conduct that had been alleged online via the phone application, KIK.

Troopers found that a 23-year-old man had been molesting and taking sexually explicit photos of an elementary-aged female over the past six months.

The photos were then shared to interested parties online, per the suspect. The abuse has continued until a week prior to the execution of the search warrant.

Troopers gained a confession from the suspect. Meanwhile, Branch County DHS-CPS was able to place the young female in a safe environment.
