Allan Baldwin, 88

L. Allan Baldwin, age 88, of Three Rivers, died Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Three Rivers. He was born in Three Rivers on May 28, 1929 the son of Glenn G. and Alma D. (Richmond) Baldwin and was a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. Allan graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1947 and then joined the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was married to Avis G. Hassenger in Elkhart, Indiana on Sep. 14, 1951.

Allan was a life member of the Center Park United Methodist Church. He was employed at Maro, Inc. in Schoolcraft for over 20 years and with Kerwin Electric for 8 years. He was a member of the Schoolcraft American Legion. Allan enjoyed bowling and hunting. He enjoyed working on almost anything and was a Jack-of-all-trades. Allan never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Allan is survived by his wife of 67 years, Avis; two daughters, Anne Murphy of Allegan and Julie Standish of Otsego; three granddaughters, Christina and Danyel Murphy and Alayna Standish; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Murphy; a sister, Jean Stephenson of Mendon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lila Dreisbach and Marjorie Frakes; and a brother, Lynn Baldwin.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, March 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Marty Culver officiating. Military interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
