Benjamin Aguirre “Pop”, age 86, passed away in the loving arms of his daughter at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2018. He was born in East Chicago, Ind. on Oct. 6, 1931 the son of Jesse and Regina (Avila) Aguirre.
He graduated from Washington High School and went onto serve his country as a U.S. Seaman from 1952 until 1960. He was employed for many years at Inland Steel as a mechanic where he eventually retired. Benjamin was passionate about his pets, Kuki, Kandi, and Tassell. He also enjoyed his trips to visit friends at local stores and was a loyal husband, father, and friend.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and wife, Eugenia.
In accordance with family wishes cremation has been conducted and private services will be held at later date.
