Dorothy Ellen Hiemstra, age 57, of Centreville, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home.
She was born June 26, 1960, in Sturgis, a daughter of John and Lucille (Poley) Saunders.
Dorothy resided in the Centreville and Sturgis area her entire life. On Oct. 5, 1984, she married Larry Hiemstra in Sturgis.
She was a dedicated homemaker and a massage therapist. Dorothy enjoyed mushroom hunting, rock hunting and gemology.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Larry Hiemstra Sr.; two sons, Larry (Diana) Hiemstra Jr. and William Rose, both of Sturgis; a daughter, Melissa Hiemstra of Sturgis; four granddaughters, Makenna Hodges, Haley Williams, Kylie Rose and Taylor Rose; her father, John Saunders of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Gary (Linda) Foster of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Dorothy E. Hiemstra will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Pastor Paul Pierucki will officiate.
