Lorene Pittenger, 95

M. Lorene Pittenger, age 95, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday evening, July 10, 2018, at the home of her son in Sturgis.
She was born July 4, 1923, in Petersburg, Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Nishia (Stroup) Dixon.
Lorene resided most of her life in Sturgis.
On Sept. 11, 1942, she married Jay R. Pittenger in Petersburg. He died Jan. 1, 2010.
Lorene retired from Harter Corporation in Sturgis following many years of dedicated employment.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Dixie) Pittenger; three grandchildren, Timothy, Tracy (Doug) and Tiffany (Robert); four great-grandchildren, Damon (Elyssa), Paige, Vanessa and Allen; a sister, Frances (Herbert) Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and four sisters.
A private graveside service and burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
