A tumultuous situation involving the Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education has been resolved.
Board members this week agreed to a financial settlement with Kevin Hamilton, former administrator of educational services at Three Rivers Middle School.
Hamilton and two other administrators were let go following the 2014-15 academic year. They subsequently filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, but the complaints were eventually dismissed.
Hamilton then filed a discrimination lawsuit against former superintendent Jean Logan and the district.
The board and Hamilton reached a settlement of $85,000. It was approved Monday and as a result, the pending litigation was dismissed.
The district issued a media release, stating the settlement “was the best decision for the district to move forward and put the focus back on students.”
