Nancy Hughes, 55

Nancy Jean Hughes, age 55, died January 4, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Sturgis on December 4, 1963 the oldest daughter of Michael T. and Norma Jean (Rexford) Hughes. Nancy lived in St. Joseph County for most of her life. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She liked to crochet and made afghans for all her relatives and friends. Nancy was a certified nursing assistant and worked as a personal care aid. She enjoyed her time at the Circle of Friends Clubhouse in Sturgis and loved the friends she had there.

Nancy is survived by her children, Kevin Antony Hughes and Mary Jean Shackelton; sister, Cathy Hart; nephews, Casey Turner, Tyler Hart, and Ryan Hart; grandchildren, Danasia, Brooklynn, Alando, and Kristaian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Norma Jean Hughes.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Leonidas Cemetery with her aunt, Rev. Sandra Monroe officiating. Local assistance was provided by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
