Theresa J. (Blaskie) Grossman, age 90, of Burr Oak, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at home.
She was born July 2, 1928, in Bronson, a daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Francisco) Blaskie.
She lived in California, Sturgis and Burr Oak for the past 45 years, except when she and her husband, Robert, lived in Port Richey, Fla., from 1997-2006.
On May 20, 1952, she married Robert Grossman. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 2009.
Theresa attended St. Mary’s School in Bronson and after graduating, worked several years at Bronson Reel Company.
She was a devoted wife and mother of three and helped at school functions, enjoyed gardening, embroidery, word-search puzzles, reading, traveling and visiting with friends and family. She was hostess at many family gatherings.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Yoder of Burr Oak and Terri (Larry) Smith of Malabar, Fla.; a son, Larry Grossman of Mottville; five grandchildren, Lori (Chad) Smoker, Michael Yoder, Christopher Smith, April Smith and Justin Grossman; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Leon Blaskie of Irving, Texas; a sister, Angeline Tierney of Elkhart, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings Theodore Grossman, James Grossman, Raymond Grossman, twins John Grossman and Genevieve Cadman and Gertrude Blaskie.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, 602 W. Chicago Road, Bronson.
Interment and graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary’s Church or School. Envelopes are available at Hackman Family Funeral Homes in Sturgis, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
