Ernestine A. Sears, age 95, of Sturgis, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Thurston Woods Village.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Beatrice, Neb., a daughter to the late Anargyrus and Edith (Witzsche) Kaloides.
Ernestine was a resident of Sturgis since 1976, moving here from Denver and previous to that Beatrice, Neb.
On Oct. 3, 1943, in Beatrice, Neb. she married Sinclair C. Sears. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1999.
She was a homemaker and was an active member of Lima United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching TV, especially old Westerns.
Surviving are a son, Kerry (Donna) Sears of Sturgis; a daughter, Judy (Jim) Yockey of Idaho Falls, ID; two grandchildren: Nicole (Richard) Dudek of Sturgis and Christopher (Erica) Sears of Three Rivers; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Dudek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Sears; nine sisters; and one brother.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family, envelopes are available at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
