Wanda Waltke, 104

Wanda W. Waltke, age 104, formerly of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, in Tucson, Ariz.
Wanda was born Jan. 10, 1914, in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter to the late George T. & Zona B. (Hoover) Merriman.
She came to Sturgis in 1945 from Ft. Wayne, and moved to Tucson in 1985 and also had lived in Kerrville, Texas and Carlsbad, NM.
On Sept. 9, 1950, she married John Henry Waltke in Valparasio, Ind.
She had worked for the Harter Corporation in Sturgis for 29 years, retiring in 1975.
Wanda enjoyed Travel and doing volunteer Work.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (D.L.) Fugler of St. Petersburg, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sister Florence E. Merriman; and brother Cal Merriman.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private burial of her ashes will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange at a later date.
If desired memorials may be made in memory of Wanda to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon.
