Ronald Wolkins, 82

Ronald R. Wolkins, age 82 of Elkhart, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, following an extended illness.
He was born May 21, 1936, in Constantine Township, Mich., the son of Lee R. and Anne H. (Miller) Wolkins. He was a resident of Elkhart since 1991, coming from Jones and Union.
He was a 1955 graduate of Constantine High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a millwright at Crains in Elkhart and Bristol Pipes. He was a member of the Bristol Missionary Church, DAV  and was an avid gardener and enjoyed carpentry.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Maria Barnette of Hawaii; two sisters, Eunice (Vyrl) Hayford of Jones and Shirley Parsons of Constantine; two brothers, Roger Wolkins of White Pigeon and Larry Wolkins of Jones; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson Willie Whitt; and wife, Juli Whitt-Wolkins.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where services will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Snider of Chapel Hill Missionary Church officiating. Interment will be in East Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to Harbor Light Hospice.
