Norman Weiderman, 88

Norman R. Weiderman, age 88, of White Pigeon, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Sturgis, a son of Lester and Pearl (Rodgers) Weiderman.
He was a graduate of Colon High School in 1951 and a U.S. Navy veteran 1949-1950, serving on the USS Dennis J. Buckly DDR-808.
He was a White Pigeon resident since 1959, coming from Alaska. He was a self-employed general contractor, a member of First Presbyterian Church in White Pigeon, Mottville Township supervisor and served on White Pigeon Village Council 1982-1986.
On June 3, 1955, he married Carolyn R. Huston in Burr Oak. She preceded him in death April 4, 2015. He is survived by his children, Darcy and Jerry Johnson, Van Weiderman and Cathy Wagner, and Nancy and Chris Parker; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Marilyn Jacobs; and a brother, Donald Weiderman.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church in White Pigeon. Pastor Steve Kaszar will officiate. Interment of cremains will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery. Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church in White Pigeon or the charity of one’s choice .
