Linda Linn, 71

Linda Dee Linn, 71, of Interlochen, formerly of Edwardsburg, died peacefully at her home on November 7, 2018.  She was born on September 14, 1947 to Donald and Irene (Sheets) Aldrich in Sturgis.

Linda attended White Pigeon Community Schools, graduating with honors in 1965. She went on to study at Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University where she graduated, Magna Cum Laude, in 1970 with a B.A. in Occupational Therapy. On September 12, 1970 she married Kenneth Linn, of Constantine, at the First Presbyterian Church in White Pigeon. Linda’s career spanned four decades and many different rolls as an Occupational Therapist. She started her career in 1970 at The State Hospital in Coldwater, later moving on to a rehab center in Elkhart, and Cass County Intermediate School District. Starting a private practice for Learning and Development in Dowagiac, and working at Elkhart General Hospital Home Health, before retiring from Occupational Therapy from Birchwood-Tendercare in Traverse City. She very much enjoyed helping others and loved working with children. Linda also co-authored published papers and studies on learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder. In her free time, Linda loved to ride motorcycles, golf, bowl, and was an avid reader. She was well known in her circle of friends and family for being a skilled mushroom hunter and competitive card player. Linda was always interested in staying connected with others, she volunteered at Munson Healthcare Hospice House and the Women’s Resource Center Thrift shop.

She was a very caring, wonderful and beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. She will always be remembered warmly and horribly missed. Linda is survived by her husband Ken, of 48 years; daughters Andrea (Chris) Kohl, of Traverse City and Erin Linn, of Interlochen; grandson Andrew; two sisters Bobbi (Mike Utzman) Jacobus, of Euless TX, Robin (Frank) Hemminga of White Pigeon, and brother Ron (Sandy) Aldrich, of Kalamazoo, step-mother, Joyce (Nottoli) Aldrich of Three Rivers, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Donald R Aldrich, Gloria Aldrich, Irene E Niece, and Earlis Niece and her brother Larry R Aldrich.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. on December 1, 2018 at the Golden Fellowship Hall, 9700 Riley Rd. in Interlochen MI. And for those friends and family that cannot attend the Interlochen celebration, there will be another celebration of Linda’s life, on December 15, 2018 at the Three Rivers Community Center, 103 S. Douglas Ave in Three Rivers, following interment at the Constantine Cemetery at 12 o’clock pm. Arrangements in Traverse City were made by Covell Funeral Home and in St. Joseph County were made through Farrand Funeral Home. The immediate family would like to thank all of the administration and staff of the Munson Healthcare Hospice team in Traverse City for all of their support, comfort, and care these last few months. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Linda’s name to The American Cancer Society or to Munson Healthcare Hospice.
