Juanita Winer, 98

Juanita V. Winer, age 98, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, 2018, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born May 5, 1920, in Decatur, Ind., a daughter of Russell and Viola (Ray) Bowman. Juanita worked at Kirsch Company and Sturgis Journal in Sturgis. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, shopping, playing the organ, square-dancing with Bob and golfing (even claiming to have had a hole-in-one).
Juanita married “The Love of Her Life,” Robert G. “Bob” Winer, May 31, 1941, in Indiana. He sadly preceded her in death Nov. 5, 2017.
She is survived by two nephews, James (Sharon) Parker of Howe, Ind., and Joseph (Madeleine) Parker of Sturgis; six great-nieces, Shelly, Jan, Diane, Julie, Elizabeth and Ann Jeanette; two great-nephews, Chris and Jerry; and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Winer of Battle Creek.
A memorial service to celebrate Juanita’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Interment will be held privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Talon’s Out Honor Flight, P.O.
