George R. Cheney, age 80, of Constantine, died February 15, 2019 at his home. He was born February 23, 1938 in Hastings, MI a son of John and Beldon (Blanck) Cheney. George graduated High School and attended Ohio State University. He served in the United States Army. On October 5, 1961 he married Anna Marie Barberis in Three Rivers. George was a machinist in tool & die, working for Industrial Lamp of Elkhart and later retiring from Patrick Metals in Mishawaka. He also owned and operated George’s Gun Shop in Constantine.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling and was a member of several leagues over the years.
Surviving are his wife Anna Marie Cheney, Constantine, daughter Miste (Chris) Hamminga, Constantine, Kimberly (Eric) Kluck, Grand Rapids, son Kendall Cheney, Savannah, MO, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Maxine Capp.
Per his request, cremation has taken place. There will be no public services.
